Kairos Prision Ministry
Offers Programs for Incarcerated Men and Women
Well-organized and well-trained volunteer teams of men and women from the communities surrounding an institution present an introductory 4-day weekend, described as a short course in Christianity. This inter-denominational team of volunteers — both clergy and laypersons — works in cooperation with the Chaplain who carefully selects up to 36 inmate leaders to attend. A well-organized follow up program is part of this ministry. Men’s event is scheduled for October 9-12 of 2009.

Here's How You Can Participate…
Be in prayer for the Kairos team and their families. Pray for the men that are incarcerated and for their families while they are away. Pray for men to say YES to Jesus! Volunteer to make posters with encouraging words or symbols of Christ’s love. Sign a prayer hand and commit to being in prayer for a specific amount of time during the 4-day event. Have your children design placemats. Please complete them prior to October 7th and deliver them to the office: attention Tim Warweg. Step out of your comfort zone and sign up to participate in the 4 day weekend event.
Kairos has helped me grow in my faith journey and I have been blessed to be a part of this team. God calls us to spread the Good News to all people. The Bible provides us with many stories about Jesus visiting people who had diseases, handicaps, the outcasts of society and he touched them, provided healing, offered friendship and, yes, He forgave them for their sins just like He forgives you and me for our sins.
Kairos volunteers come from all walks of life. They all share a desire to follow Christ’s admonition of Matthew 25:36, “I was in prison and you visited me.”
The training begins Saturday, August 22, from 8 to 12 noon.
