About WUMC

The Wethersfield United Methodist Church is a fellowship of Christian believers dedicated to proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ through word and action. Following worship we invite you into our Family Life Center for a time of fellowship and refreshment.

Among the programs and ministries we offer:

Sunday Worship

Our main service of worship is Sunday mornings but we offer other worship opportunities throughout the year. Our worship is lively, sprit-filled and Christ-centered. We offer a full range of choirs, including an adult chancel choir, adult and youth bells, youth choirs, and a women's praise chorus. We also have a liturgical dance ministry.

Youth and Adult Christian Education

  • Sunday and midweek adult Bible and topic studies;
  • Church school for all youth, including a nursery care program;
  • Women's midweek prayer and study group;
  • Men's fellowship;
  • Youth fellowship;
  • Our Nursery School has a full schedule of 3 and 4 year olds including a creative arts program and the "Lunch Bunch."

Our mission ministries include:

  • HAITI - United Methodist Volunteers in Mission. Our church sponsors two or more mission trips a year to this impoverished region. More information is available on this website by clicking on the Missions tab.
  • U.M. ARMY - U.M. ARMY's mission is to provide Christ centered,quality youth work camps that serve people in need and promote spiritual growth and leadership development in youth. More information is available on this website by clicking on the Missions tab.
  • Our outreach ministries include supporting United Methodist mission projects and local projects such as the town of Wethersfield food pantry, Cromwell Children's Home, Loaves and Fishes, Interval House, Plimpton House and many others. Our facility is also the home of the Wethersfield Cooperative Nursery, AA, Al-anon, TRUST, and Narcotics Anonymous.
  • Our inreach ministries include our Caregivers Ministry, visitation ministry, a prayer chain, Eucharistic Ministry, "Harvest of the Heart" meal ministry, and many others.
  • We sponsor many fellowship activities including a number of dinners.
