About Our Nursery School
The Wethersfield United Methodist Church Nursery School, which has been “joyful and active” for the past 11 years, is currently accepting registrations for the 2010-2011 school year. Our school, which has a wonderful relationship with the Wethersfield United Methodist Church, is welcoming and inviting and offers young children a loving and safe environment for their preschool years.
The Nursery School’s core program includes morning classes for 3 and 4 year olds as well as afternoon classes for 4 year olds and 5 year old Pre-K students. Special offerings feature a program of Music and Movement, offered to all classes, and two carefully developed Enrichment Programs. The Plus Program, meeting 2 mornings a week (Tuesday and Thursday), celebrates the growth of the “whole child,” presenting an upbeat mix of gross and fine motor activities. The Plus Program revels in the love of exercise, sports, and a variety of games. The Creative Arts+ Program, which meets either once or twice per week, also offers theme-basedactivities in the arts, integrating vocal and instrumental music, art projects in many media and the magic of children’s books. Again, the “whole child” is celebrated with lively games and activities integrated into the program. The recently built Family Life Center (gymnasium) and the large, outdoor play area provide a beautiful space for recreation and fun for all of the classes.
Classes at WUMCNS provide a balance of whimsical imagination and joyful interaction. The nursery school’s core program, coupled with our Enrichment Program offerings, provides extended day, 3-day, 4-day, and 5-day programming options.
